Sonu Nigam and crew allegedly attacked at Mumbai event on Monday:
A complaint and a case have been made by Sonu Nigam.
His assistant was treated at a hospital for minor injuries
and then released after receiving only the most basic care.
"I was shoved and then I fell on the stairs. In an
attempt to save me, Rabbani (Khan) was pushed from behind. He may have
passed away. I complained because forcing someone to take a selfie is something
that people should consider, "he told reporters, Mr. Nigam.
"After performing live at the Chembur festival, Sonu
Nigam left the stage, and this is when the event happened. Someone stopped him
from behind. The man pushed the two musicians who were with him down the steps
when they attempted to move him away. As a result, one of them suffered
injuries "said Hemraj Singh Rajput, deputy commissioner of police (DCP).
According to Mr. Nigam's complaint, when I inquired about
the youngster, I learned that he was the MLA Prakash Phaterpekar's son.
Shehzad Poonawala, a BJP leader, attacked the former chief
minister Uddhav Thackeray, alleging that his son, an MLA from his faction, was
responsible for the "attack."
Nonetheless, the police denied that the incident had a
political undertone.
"Nothing looked purposeful based on our talk, which I
had with Mr. Nigam. Only one person carried it out on the spur of the moment.
The issue was managed by the volunteers there. The act may have been done with
the goal of taking a picture or getting media coverage. Authorities are going
to look into this ""DCP," he said.
Member of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Suprada
Phaterpekar recognized herself as the festival's organizer and stated her group
had apologised to Mr. Nigam. She said in a tweet that her brother was
attempting to take a selfie with the musician. She also urged people not to
take individuals who were attempting to politicize the situation at their word.
